Two students, also siblings, from Princess Elizabeth Public School, Selah-Marie S., and Hannah S., are being recognized for their contributions to youth leadership, civic engagement, and community service. Selah-Marie is in grade 6, and Hannah is in grade 4.

Both students have participated in a range of extracurricular and advocacy initiatives focused on leadership development, public speaking, diplomacy, and mental health awareness. Their involvement includes programming and events such as the Lead Like a Girl Program delivered in partnership with the Organization of Economic Development and Diplomacy (OEDD), the Power to Girls Conference, the Brampton World’s Hatwalk 2026, and the Queendom Inc 5K Mental Health & Suicide Awareness Walk. They also delivered a presentation on homelessness and affordability at the OEDD conference earlier this year.

The students’ engagement in leadership programming has helped them develop their confidence-building, advocacy, and public communication skills. Both Selah-Marie and Hannah completed the Lead Like A Girl program and received certificates of completion for their efforts. Selah-Marie was also awarded the Blooming with Confidence Award in recognition of her personal growth and leadership.

Selah-Marie recently received an award acknowledging her leadership and civic involvement. In the absence of Member of Parliament Kylee Seeback, Natasha Archer from the Lead Like a Girl Program, and Candies Kotchapaw from OEDD presented Selah-Marie with the award.

Congratulations, Selah-Marie and Hannah! Your involvement across multiple initiatives demonstrates a commitment to making meaningful contributions within your school and community.
