At the Upper Grand District School Board, we believe every student is different, with their own unique strengths, interests, goals, and dreams. From a child’s first days in kindergarten through to graduation, our educators and staff work to help students feel supported, included, and excited about learning. We strive to create student-centred environments where students are encouraged to explore their interests, discover what they are good at, build the confidence they need for what comes next, and find their path.

Are you or someone you know looking to register a child for school?

Elementary Registration for the 2026-27 school year is September 1-4, 2026, at all Upper Grand District School Board elementary schools.

While this dedicated registration week is held in early September, families can also register students for elementary and secondary school throughout the school year.

Only new students to the UGDSB are required to register. If your child attended a UGDSB school last year, you do not need to re-register. If you registered your child for JK or SK in winter 2026, you do not need to re-register.

Please register at your local school. To determine which school your child is eligible to attend, visit the UGDSB’s School Locator.

Kindergarten Registration

A child's first days in kindergarten are the exciting beginning of their journey to finding their path. All Junior and Senior Kindergarten students who are new to the UGDSB must pre-register online at ugdsb.ca/page/kindergarten-home.

Once you have pre-registered, visit your child’s home school between September 1-4, 2026, to have your documents verified. Office hours for your child’s school can be found on the board website.

Parents/guardians applying to register their child for Junior Kindergarten French Immersion will need to contact their French Immersion school for information about program space and waiting lists as the January registration period has closed. Please note that Junior Kindergarten is the only entry point into the French Immersion program in the UGDSB.

If you registered your child in January during the Kindergarten Registration period, you do not need to re-register now.
