Dear parents, caregivers and families,

We are excited to welcome students and families to the 2026–27 school year at the Upper Grand District School Board!

As we move forward, our commitment to student achievement and well-being continues to be the cornerstone of our work. This year, we remain guided by our core priorities: inspiring a lifelong love of learning, championing health and well-being, leading through sustainability, and ensuring equity of access and outcomes for all.

We are also continuing our focus on AI literacy, helping students and staff develop the critical thinking and reflection skills needed to navigate our evolving technological landscape responsibly.

With the completion of the independent third-party review of Human Rights @UGDSB this year will focus on action and implementation. Work will be concentrated on strengthening reporting processes, enhancing staff support to better address discrimination, and establishing new advisory committees to ensure transparency and ongoing community collaboration.

We are grateful for your partnership as we work together to ensure every student feels a strong sense of belonging and possibility in their learning journey.
