The Upper Grand District School Board is proud to announce that Sean Hamilton has been named the recipient of the 2025 OeLC Supporting Boards and Students in eLearning Award.
The award, presented by the Ontario eLearning Consortium this May in Ottawa, recognizes exceptional educators for their dedication to advancing eLearning opportunities for students. The OeLC is a grassroots partnership of Ontario school boards that began in 2005. It currently is comprised of 55 boards, “each of which has entered into mutual agreement to open their eLearning courses to all students throughout member boards without a course fee.”
Sean is a Technology Enabled Learning and Teaching Support Teacher (TELT) in the UGDSB. He was recognized for his unwavering commitment to online learning, his leadership in digital innovation, and his continuous contributions to both the UGDSB and the OeLC.
For more than 11 years, Sean has gone above and beyond in his TELT role, supporting teachers, students, and colleagues in delivering high-quality online education. As UGDSB’s eLearning program continues to grow, Sean has been central in the transitions for new team members while maintaining a strong focus on program quality and student success. His depth of knowledge and dedication make him an essential part of our online learning community.
According to his colleagues, “Sean exemplifies lifelong learning and is always seeking innovative ways to improve the student learning experience. Most recently, he has emerged as a leader in the integration of Generative AI in education, guiding discussions and implementation strategies within UGDSB and beyond. His expertise and willingness to share his knowledge have had a lasting impact on educators and students alike.”
Congratulations Sean!
