Board News for Elementary
As municipal elections quickly approach, now is the opportunity to get to know what each school board trustee candidate is running on before election day on October 24.
The “UGDSB Counts Student Census” launches today for all Upper Grand District School Board students in grades Kindergarten-12. Participation in the Student Census will help the UGDSB make systemic changes that will create more equitable outcomes for all students.
Returning to school in the fall can result in mixed emotions including excitement, anticipation, nervousness, and worry. As we work to build and strengthen wellness skills, we are essentially building a strong foundation, a toolbox of strategies, to help your child/ren as they move through this school year in their own, unique and individual way.
It is recommended that students/children and visitors continue to self-screen for illness every day before attending school or child care using this updated Screening Tool.
Wellness Works, will be back in action this year as we collectively work, once again, to ensure not only a mentally healthy return to school but an on-going emphasis on wellness throughout UGDSB classrooms, lessons and school buildings.
As we head back to class, I am excited to begin working alongside the wonderful staff of the Upper Grand in service of students and families that put their trust in us. One of the things I am particularly excited about this fall is the board’s new Multi-Year Plan that provides us with a unifying purpose, an ambitious vision and sets the direction for our actions over the next four years.
