Out of Area and Out of District Attendance
Out of Area (OOA) and Out of District (OOD) registration procedures for English-language track schools are governed in accordance with Policy 521 Admission and Registration.
Process for OOA/OOD attendance:
The board will maintain a list of schools that are either ‘open’ or ‘closed’ to new OOA/OOD registrations.
Schools are reviewed each year and the list is updated and posted prior to the December break.
Only schools designated as ‘open’ for the coming school year can accept new OOA/OOD registrations.
New OOA/OOD registrations can only be submitted during a limited period of time during the month of January.
New OOA/OOD registrations must be completed by the last Friday in January.
Students registering at a school that is OOA or OOD may remain at the OOA/OOD school until completion of grades at that school, rather than having to reapply every year.
Transportation is NOT provided for OOA or OOD students.
We encourage students to attend their designated home school but do understand that there may be situations that lead to a request for students to attend a different school.
