A student at skills

Between May 4-5. 2026, many Upper Grand District School Board students participated in the Skills Ontario competition at the Toronto Congress Centre.

The Skills Ontario competition features over 2,000 competitors from across Ontario elementary, secondary and post-secondary institutions and promotes careers in many tech related industries.

This year four UGDSB secondary students took home medals from the provincial competition.

  • Quinn G. from John F Ross CVI took home Silver for Brick Masonry

  • Leo S. from Guelph CVI took home Silver in Cabinetmaking

  • Tommy S. from John F Ross CVI took home Silver in Heavy Equipment Service

  • Marshall C. from Guelph CVI took home Bronze in Precision Machining

Congratulations to all UGDSB students who competed in the Skills Ontario Competition and congratulations to those who took home medals.
